The Antigua & Barbuda National Association in London

 The Antigua & Barbuda National Association in London (ABNA) was formed in 1967 by a group of Antiguans and Barbudans living in London. This was not just a forum to meet, socialise, and address the needs of members of The Antiguan Community in England and their fellow Nationals in Antigua & Barbuda, but a platform that you, our esteemed audience, have helped shape and grow. Waltham Forest, Antigua & Barbuda And Dominica Twinning Association  

Dominican-born Mr Franklyn Georges established the Twinning Association, the first African-Caribbean person to become the Mayor of Waltham Forest in the 1990/91 municipal year. ​His wife Veronica, born of Antiguan and Dominican parentage, combined the support of local Dominican and Antiguan community groups and Associations working with the Council’s Race Equality Unit to create and organise educational and cultural trips for local children to the islands.  Subsequently in 1992 the idea of twinning was discussed at a public meeting and this was followed by the establishment of a steering committee leading to the signing of the Town Twinning Charters in April 1999.

The Mayor of Waltham Forest, as the patron of the Waltham Forest, Antigua & Barbuda and Dominica Twinning Association, plays a pivotal role in our mission.The objectives are mainly to promote friendship, information exchange and mutual understanding of cultural, recreational and commercial activities of the linked areas.
