Study in Azerbaijan: Fully Funded Scholarship Opportunity for Antiguan and Barbudan Students
Antiguan and Barbudan students now have the opportunity to pursue higher education abroad with full financial support, thanks to the Heydar Aliyev International Education Grant Programme for the 2025–2026 academic year. This prestigious scholarship, funded by the Government of Azerbaijan, offers a once-in-a-lifetime chance to study at top universities in Azerbaijan, and applications are now open.
A Pathway to Global Learning
The scholarship programme was established by decree of H.E. Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, to honour the legacy of Heydar Aliyev, Azerbaijan’s National Leader. It aims to strengthen international cooperation and invest in the development of global human capital.

Scholarship Benefits
- Full tuition coverage and preparatory language training
- Round-trip international airfare (once per year)
- Monthly stipend of 800 AZN (~USD $470) for accommodation, living expenses, and educational materials
- Annual medical insurance of 200 AZN (~USD $117)
- Visa and residence permit support throughout the study period
Programmes Available
- Preparatory courses: 6 months to 1 year
- Undergraduate: 4 – 5 years
- General Medicine: 5 – 6 years
- Master’s/Medical Residency: 1.5 – 5 years
- PhD Programmes: 3 years
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be citizens of:
- Small Island Developing States (SIDS), including Antigua and Barbuda
- Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) member states
- Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states
- Countries with shared cultural, ethnic, or historical ties with Azerbaijan
Age limits:
- Undergraduate / General Medicine: under 35 years
- Graduate / Medical Residency: under 40 years
- Doctoral: under 45 years
