St Vincent and the Grenadines High Commission (UK): GoFundMe Account- UK-SVG COMBINED RESPONSE TO LA SOUFRIERE ERUPTION

H.E Cenio Lewis, High Commissioner of St. Vincent and the Grenadines is working closely with the UK-SVG FRIENDSHIP TRUST to coordinate the various fundraising efforts by Vincentians living in the UK Diaspora. 

You will now be aware that at 08:41 (SVG time) 9th April 2021 an explosive eruption began at the La Soufriere volcano in St. Vincent. An evacuation effort is already underway for residents living in the red zone. 

While the Authorities including the National Emergency Management Organisation (NEMO) is busily responding to the unfolding situation, it is recognised that it is also important to prepare to assist our families and loved ones as the need arises including the post-disaster recovery. 

Your support at this time will ensure that persons directly affected will receive the critical support needed to get their lives back to some level of normalcy when the all-clear is given. We continue to monitor developments on the ground to support any requirement to support those in shelters across the country. 

Notwithstanding the above, please continue to pray for St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
